PROJECT PLANNING FOR PLUMBERS

Understand the bathroom.
Clarify your part of the work.

A bathroom or kitchen allowance can start a useful conversation, but it is not the price of the plumbing work. Build a clear brief that shows what you are supplying, connecting, moving and excluding.

Tools for this work

Planning estimates, not contractor quotations

Bathroom budget context

Kitchen budget context

Know the limits. RenoTally does not currently offer a plumbing-only quotation calculator. Room estimates are context, not plumbing design or a professional trade quotation.

Practical guidance

Define the work before preparing your professional quotation.

Record the existing and proposed layout

List fixtures, their positions and whether services stay in place or move. Mark access assumptions and work that can only be confirmed after inspection.

Agree trade boundaries

Separate plumbing from cabinetry, tiling, electrical work and making good. Record who supplies the fixtures, who removes waste and what testing or handover is included.

Present the quote in work packages

Distinguish labour, specified materials and provisional items. Explain variations and VAT treatment instead of taking a whole-room estimate as your trade price.
